BUCK CREEK (COOKE COUNTY)
BUCK CREEK (Cooke County). Buck Creek rises three miles south of Era in southwestern Cooke County (33°28' N, 97°18' W) and runs southeast for six miles to its mouth on Clear Creek, in north central Denton County (at 33°23' N, 97°16' W). It traverses variable terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support oak, juniper, chaparral, cacti, and grasses. Buck Creek has been dammed in its extreme lower reaches.
