BUFFALO CREEK (ROCKWALL COUNTY)

BUFFALO CREEK (Rockwall County). Buffalo Creek rises three miles southeast of Rockwall in southwestern Rockwall County (at 32°55' N, 96°25' W) and runs southwest for thirty miles to its mouth on the East Fork of the Trinity River, three miles west of Forney (at 32°45' N, 96°31' W). The stream traverses flat to rolling land surfaced by dark, calcareous clays that support mesquite and cacti. For most of the county's history the Buffalo Creek area has been used as range and cropland.
