BURNT BRANCH (San Saba County). Burnt Branch rises seven miles southeast of San Saba in eastern San Saba County (at 31°09' N, 98°38' W) and runs northeast for seven miles to its mouth on the Colorado River (at 31°12' N, 98°34' W). It crosses an area of moderately to steeply sloping hills with live oak, Ashe juniper, and grasses growing in clayey and sandy loams.
