BRUSHY CREEK (Trinity County). Brushy Creek rises two miles northeast of Chita in south central Trinity County (at 30°58' N, 95°10' W) and runs southeast for eleven miles to its mouth on Livingston Reservoir, just south of the Polk county line (at 30°50' N, 95°09' W). Before the construction of the reservoir in the 1970s the stream joined the Trinity River near Onalaska. The stream is intermittent throughout most of its course. It crosses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam in which grow conifers, water-tolerant hardwoods, and grasses.
