CLEAR CREEK (Ellis County). Clear Creek rises three miles east of Rankin in southeastern Ellis County (at 32°11' N, 96°42' W) and runs east for five miles to its mouth on Chambers Creek, 4½ miles northwest of Emhouse in northern Navarro County (at 32°13' N, 96°37' W). It crosses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by shallow to deep sandy and clay loams that support scrub brush, cacti, and some hardwoods. For most of the county's history the Clear Creek area has been used as range and cropland.
