CLEMENS CREEK. Clemens Creek rises 1½ miles northeast of Belmont in northwestern Gonzales County (at 29°34' N, 97°40' W) and runs southeast to its mouth on the Guadalupe River (at 29°30' N, 97°36' W). It was probably named for Austin Clements, an early settler. The surrounding moderately rolling terrain is surfaced by sandy clay that supports mixed hardwoods and pines.
