COBB JONES CREEK
COBB JONES CREEK. Cobb Jones Creek rises five miles east of Sulphur Bluff in northwestern Hopkins County (at 33°20' N, 95°19' W) and runs southeast for eleven miles to its mouth on White Oak Creek, ten miles northeast of Mount Vernon in Franklin County (at 33°19' N, 95°09' W). The surrounding nearly level to undulating terrain is surfaced by soil that is loamy with a clayey subsoil. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and hardwoods predominating.
