CORDWOOD CREEK. Cordwood Creek rises just north of Farm Road 576 and four miles west of Moran in southeastern Shackelford County (at 32°33' N, 99°15' W) and runs for five miles northeast to its mouth on Deep Creek, just west of Moran (at 32°33' N, 99°11' W). The surrounding rolling hills are surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support scrub brush, mesquite, cacti, and grasses.
