COTTONWOOD CREEK (CORYELL COUNTY)
COTTONWOOD CREEK (Coryell County). Cottonwood Creek rises sixteen miles north of Copperas Cove in west central Coryell County (at 31°22' N, 97°51' W) and runs northeast for eight miles to its mouth on the Leon River, two miles west of Gatesville (at 31°24' N, 97°45' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain, with local deep dissections, surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support juniper, oak, mesquite, and grasses.
