COTTONWOOD CREEK (Karnes County). Cottonwood Creek rises three miles southwest of Choate in southeastern Karnes County (at 28°44' N, 97°46' W) and flows northeast for six miles to its mouth on Hondo Creek, two miles east of Couch (at 28°47' N, 97°43' W). The stream traverses flat to rolling terrain with clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
