COTTONWOOD CREEK (TRAVIS COUNTY)
COTTONWOOD CREEK (Travis County). Cottonwood Creek rises five miles north of New Sweden in northeastern Travis County (at 30°28' N, 97°29' W) and runs southeast for thirteen miles to its mouth on Wilbarger Creek, six miles east of Manor (at 30°19' N, 97°28' W). It traverses generally flat to rolling terrain with steep margins, surfaced by sandy loams that support willow and pecan trees in the upper reaches of the creek and water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses in the lower reaches.
