COTTONWOOD CREEK (MOTLEY COUNTY)
COTTONWOOD CREEK (Motley County). Cottonwood Creek rises ten miles northeast of Matador in north central Motley County (at 34°08' N, 100°44' W) and runs north for six miles to its mouth on Hornica Creek, two miles south of the North Pease River (at 34°11' N, 100°44' W). An early Matador Ranch map shows Cottonwood Creek located on average grazing land. The area is sloping terrain surfaced by shallow silt loams that support mesquite and grasses.
