COUNCIL CREEK. Council Creek rises at the foot of Potato Hill, six miles northwest of Burnet in western Burnet County (at 30°49' N, 98°17' W), and runs west for six miles to its mouth on Lake Buchanan (at 30°49' N, 98°20' W). The creek traverses low-rolling to flat terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support scrub brush, cacti, and grasses.
