CANEY CREEK (CHEROKEE COUNTY)
CANEY CREEK (Cherokee County). Caney Creek rises just east of New Summerfield in northeastern Cherokee County (at 32°09' N, 95°06' W) and runs southwest for five miles to its mouth on Bridge Creek, just north of U.S. Highway 79 (at 32°01' N, 95°10' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It crosses flat to gently rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports grasses and mixed hardwoods and pines.
