DICKEY CREEK. Dickey Creek rises three miles west of Berea in central Houston County (at 31°20' N, 95°22' W) and runs south for fourteen miles to its mouth on White Rock Creek, a mile east of the Smith Grove community (at 31°08' N, 95°22' W). The stream, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, traverses flat terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
