DRY CREEK (TRAVIS COUNTY)
DRY CREEK (Travis County). Dry Creek rises three miles south of Austin in southern Travis County (at 30°07' N, 97°45' W) and runs northeast for twenty-five miles to its mouth on the Colorado River, ten miles northwest of Bastrop in Bastrop County (at 30°11' N, 97°28' W). The local terrain is generally flat to rolling with steep margins, surfaced by clay and sandy loam soils that support oak, juniper, elm, and grasses.
