ESCONDIDO CREEK (KARNES COUNTY)
ESCONDIDO CREEK (Karnes County). Escondido Creek rises just west of the New Bremen Cemetery in western Karnes County (at 28°50' N, 98°01' W) and runs northeast for twelve miles to its mouth on the San Antonio River, three miles southwest of Runge (at 28°51' N, 97°45' W). It is intermittent in its upper reaches. The creek traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
