FLAT ROCK CREEK (THROCKMORTON COUNTY)

FLAT ROCK CREEK (Throckmorton County). Flat Rock Creek rises two miles south of the Upshur Triangulation Station in northwest Throckmorton County (at 33°18' N, 99°19' W) and runs southeast for ten miles to its mouth on Elm Creek, four miles northwest of Throckmorton (at 33°15' N, 99°14' W). There are several small reservoirs along its course. The streambed crosses variable terrain with a sandy and clayey loam surface in which grow juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
