FRENCH CREEK (Bexar County). French Creek rises just east of Helotes in northwestern Bexar County (at 29°35' N, 98°41' W) and runs southeast for six miles to its mouth on Leon Creek, just west of State Highway 16 (at 29°29' N, 98°38' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by shallow, stony soils that support mesquite and grasses.
