HICKORY CREEK (HOUSTON COUNTY)
HICKORY CREEK (Houston County). Hickory Creek rises three miles southeast of Grounds in east central Houston County (at 31°24' N, 95°22' W) and runs northeast for twenty miles to its mouth on the Neches River, two miles north of Plain (at 31°29' N, 95°07' W). It traverses flat terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
