KITCHENS CREEK. Kitchens (Kitchen) Creek rises seven miles northeast of Jefferson in north central Marion County (at 32°52' N, 94°18' W) and runs southeast for 15½ miles through eastern Marion County to its mouth on Clinton Lake, four miles southeast of the community of Smithland (at 32°44' N, 94°06' W). The stream, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, traverses nearly level to rolling terrain surfaced by loams and clays that support dense patches of pine and hardwood trees. The land is used predominantly for timber cultivation and agriculture.
