LEONCITA CREEK. Leoncita Creek rises ten miles northwest of Tilden in northwestern McMullen County (at 28°32' N, 98°41' W) and runs southeast for ten miles to its mouth on the Frio River, at Tilden (at 28°28' N, 98°33' W). Low, rolling to flat terrain in the area has locally shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support grasses, mesquite, and chaparral in the creek's upper reaches and water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses in its lower.
