LITTLE SANDY CREEK (Lamar County). Little Sandy Creek rises (at 33°39' N, 95°28' W) in eastern Lamar County southeast of Paris and just west of Cox Field and Farm Road 1508 and flows southeast for twenty-two miles to its mouth (at 33°26' N, 95°19' W) on Brushy Creek, two miles east of Cunningham. The local terrain is flat to gently sloping and is surfaced by soils varying from dark clays to deep loams over clays. Area vegetation includes water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses. Near the stream's mouth floodplains are surfaced by gravel and sand.
