MERRELL CREEK. Merrell (Merrills) Creek rises two miles west of Eastview Cemetery in western Mills County (at 31°33' N, 98°25' W) and runs northeast five miles to its mouth on the Lampasas River, a mile south of Pecan Wells in Hamilton County (at 31°33' N, 98°21' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It traverses variable terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support juniper, oak, grasses, chaparral, and cacti.
