MESQUITE BRANCH. Mesquite Branch rises just north of Hurst in east central Tarrant County (at 32°52' N, 97°11' W) and runs south for five miles to its mouth on Walker Branch, just south of Hurst (at 32°48' N, 97°10' W). Low rolling to flat terrain in the area is surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support water-tolerant hardwood trees, conifers, scrub brush, cacti, and grasses.
