MURCHISON CREEK. Murchison Creek rises (at 32°25' N, 95°39' W) in southeastern Van Zandt County two miles north of Edom and runs south for eight miles to its mouth (at 32°19' N, 95°37' W) on Kickapoo Creek, a mile northwest of Brownsboro in northeastern Henderson County. An L. Murchison patented land crossed by the creek in Henderson County. The stream traverses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
