MUSTANG CREEK (Comanche County). Mustang Creek rises (at 31°59' N, 98°23' W) in southeastern Comanche County five miles east of Proctor Lake and runs southwest for seven miles to its mouth (at 31°55' N, 98°26' W) on the Leon River, five miles northwest of Gustine. The local terrain is characterized by steep slopes and benches, surfaced by shallow clays and sandy loams that support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
