MARTIN BRANCH (WISE COUNTY)
MARTIN BRANCH (Wise County). Martin Branch rises just southeast of the city limits of Decatur in central Wise County (at 33°14' N, 97°35' W). Intermittent in its upper reaches, the stream runs southwest for eight miles. It flows through flat to rolling land surfaced by deep, fine sandy loams that support a hardwood forest. For most of the county's history the Martin Branch area has been used as range and cropland. Martin Branch joins the West Fork of the Trinity River one mile east of Paradise (at 33°09' N, 97°39' W).
