MAXEY CREEK. Maxey Creek rises 1½ miles northwest of Brookston and just north of U.S. Highway 82 in central Lamar County (at 33°39' N, 95°43' W) and runs north for seventeen miles to its mouth on Cottonwood Creek, two miles east of Tigertown and just west of Maxey at Farm Road 38 (at 33°42' N, 95°46' W). Flat to gently sloping terrain of the area is surfaced by loam that supports grasses and some mesquite.
