MOUNTAIN BRANCH. Mountain Branch rises five miles northeast of Carbon in east central Eastland County (at 32°19' N, 98°46' W) and runs northeast five miles to its mouth on Lake Leon, just south of Farm Road 2214 (at 32°20' N, 98°42' W). It traverses rolling hills, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support scrub brush, mesquite, cacti, live oak, juniper, and grasses.
