OYSTER CREEK (HUNT COUNTY)

OYSTER CREEK (Hunt County). Oyster Creek rises just south of Wolfe City in northern Hunt County (at 33°22' N, 96°04' W) and runs south for 2½ miles to its mouth on the South Sulfur River, 2½ miles south of Wolfe City (at 33°19' N, 96°04' W). It drains a flat to rolling area surfaced with fine, sandy loams and deep to shallow expansive clays. The area has served as crop and range land. Hardwoods, oaks, junipers, and various grasses are common along the stream.
