POESTA CREEK. Poesta (Paesta) Creek rises four miles south of Mineral in northwestern Bee County (at 28°29' N, 97°55' W) and runs southeast for twelve miles to its mouth on the headwaters of the Aransas River, two miles north of Skidmore (at 28°17' N, 97°40' W). It is intermittent in its upper reaches. The stream traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
