PRAIRIE CREEK (Upshur County). Prairie Creek rises two miles west of Simpsonville in northwestern Upshur County (at 32°52' N, 95°07' W) and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on Little Cypress Creek, two miles north of Enon (at 32°48' N, 95°02' W). The creek is intermittent in its upper reaches. It traverses flat to low-rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
