POOR JOE CREEK

POOR JOE CREEK. Poor Joe Creek rises eight miles south of Timpson in western Shelby County (at 31°49' N, 94°22' W) and flows south for seven miles to its mouth on West Powdrill Creek (at 31°43' N, 94°22' W). The soil varies from sandy to clayey and loamy, and the terrain varies from nearly level to moderately steep. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
