ROCK CREEK (COOKE COUNTY)
ROCK CREEK (Cooke County). Rock Creek rises three miles west of Callisburg in northeast Cooke County (at 33°42' N, 97°05' W) and runs southwest for 4½ miles to its mouth on Wheeler Creek, one mile east of Gainesville (at 33°38' N, 97°06' W). A spillway is located in the stream's middle reaches. The surrounding low rolling to flat terrain is surfaced by shallow to deep sandy and clay loams that support scrub brush and some hardwood trees along the banks of the creek. For most of Cooke County's history the area has been used as range and crop land.
