ROCK CREEK (McLennan County). Rock Creek rises three miles northwest of China Spring in western McLennan County (at 31°41' N, 97°20' W) and runs east for nine miles to its mouth on the Brazos River, two miles south of Gholson (at 31°41' N, 97°13' W). Flat to rolling prairie in the area is surfaced by dark, calcareous clays and sandy loams that support hardwoods, mesquite, cacti, and grasses.
