SAUZ CREEK. Sauz Creek rises fourteen miles southwest of Fowlerton in east central La Salle County (at 28°21' N, 98°59' W) and runs southeast for nineteen miles to its mouth on the Nueces River, twenty-six miles southwest of Fowlerton (at 28°06' N, 98°57' W). The surrounding flat terrain has locally shallow depressions and is surfaced by expansive clays that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and various grasses.
