SNAKE CREEK (Tom Green County). Snake Creek rises near Farm Road 1223 in southeast Tom Green County (at 31°13' N, 100°12' W) and runs northeast for seventeen miles into Lipan Creek, four miles southwest of Mereta (at 31°25' N, 100°09' W). It crosses flat terrain with local shallow depressions surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
