SPRING CREEK (Gillespie County). Spring Creek rises east of Reeh Road in central Gillespie County (at 30°22' N, 99°05' W). Intermittent in its upper reaches, the stream follows a southerly course for 13½ miles to its mouth on the Pedernales River, a quarter mile south of Morris Ranch Road (at 30°13' N, 99°01' W). Rising in the hills of the eastern Edwards Plateau, Spring Creek crosses an area characterized by generally flat terrain and loamy and clayey soils; vegetation consists primarily of grasses and open stands of live oak, Ashe juniper, and mesquite.
