SWEETWATER CREEK (COMANCHE COUNTY)
SWEETWATER CREEK (Comanche County). Sweetwater Creek rises six miles west of Comanche in west central Comanche County (at 31°53' N, 98°44' W) and runs thirteen miles northeast to its mouth on Proctor Lake (at 32°01' N, 98°35' W). The dam for the lake is on Copperas Creek, just northwest of Downing. Sweetwater Creek crosses flat terrain with local shallow depressions surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
