SETTLEMENT BRANCH. Settlement Branch rises three miles east of Topsey in southwestern Coryell County (at 31°13' N, 97°57' W) and runs northeast for three miles to its mouth on Table Rock Creek, six miles north of Copperas Cove (at 31°14' N, 97°55' W). The surrounding steep slopes and benches are surfaced by shallow clay loams that support oak, juniper, mesquite, and grasses.
