VARGAS CREEK. Vargas Creek rises a mile northwest of Farm Road 755 in southwest Brooks County (at 26°51' N, 98°22' W) and runs southeast for fifteen miles to its mouth on Tasajal Lake, nine miles southwest of Rachal and thirty-three miles southwest of Falfurrias (at 26°47' N, 98°10' W). It crosses flat to gently sloping terrain surfaced by loose sand that supports scrub brush and grasses.
