WARD CREEK. Ward Creek rises four miles south of DeKalb in southwestern Bowie County (at 33°28' N, 94°40' W) and runs southeast for ten miles to its mouth on Weaver Creek, three miles northwest of Bassett (at 33°20' N, 94°36' W). The soils through which the creek flows are loamy, and the land is almost exclusively agricultural, used as pasture or as fields for growing a wide variety of crops.
