PATROON BAYOU. Patroon Bayou rises ten miles southeast of Center in southeastern Shelby County (at 31°39' N, 94°08' W) and runs southeast for twenty-three miles to its mouth on the Toledo Bend Reservoir (at 31°29' N, 93°44' W). The soil is clayey and loamy, and the terrain is nearly level. The creek lies almost wholly within the boundaries of the Sabine National Forest.
