CUESTA BLANCA. Cuesta Blanca is 3½ miles southeast of Terlingua in southwestern Brewster County (at 29°18' N, 103°34' W). The summit, at an elevation of 2,860 feet above sea level, rises some 375 feet above the Terlingua post office, three-quarters of a mile to the north. Soils on Cuesta Blanca are shallow and stony and support sparse vegetation. The name is Spanish for "white hill."
