NEBO MOUNTAIN. Nebo Mountain, also known as Mount Nebo, is three miles north of Eckert in northeastern Gillespie County (at 30°27' N, 98°44' W) and has an elevation of 1,927 feet. The surrounding countryside is characterized by low-rolling to flat land with clay and sandy loam soil. The vegetation consists primarily of grasses and stands of post oak, black jack oak, cedar elm, and mesquite.
