ROUND MOUNTAIN (San Saba County). Round Mountain is a summit twenty-two miles west of Cherokee in southwestern San Saba County (at 30°57' N, 99°05' W). It has an elevation of 1,835 feet above sea level, about 180 feet above Deer Creek to the east. The summit rises in an area characterized by generally flat terrain with localized dissection. Vegetation consists primarily of Ashe juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses growing in clayey loam soil.
