ROUND MOUNTAIN (UVALDE COUNTY)
ROUND MOUNTAIN (Uvalde County). Round Mountain, also known as Elephant Mountain for an escaped circus elephant that sought refuge in a cave on Round Mountain in the 1920s, is three miles north of Laguna in northwestern Uvalde County (at 29°28' N, 100°01' W). At an elevation of 1,575 feet above sea level, its summit rises 350 feet above nearby Farm Road 55.
