SULPHUR MOUNTAIN. Sulphur Mountain is on the Rosenow Ranch three miles east of Blewett and three miles south of U.S. Highway 90 West in southwestern Uvalde County (at 29°11' N, 99°59' W). With an elevation of 1,127 feet above sea level, its summit rises ninety feet above the surrounding terrain. The mountain has been the site of quarries.
