TOWN MOUNTAIN

TOWN MOUNTAIN. Town Mountain, also known as Town Peak, is three-quarters of a mile from Llano in central Llano County (at 30°47' N, 98°41' W). At an elevation of 1,283 feet, it rises approximately 240 feet above downtown Llano. Local topography ranges from flat to rolling to steep; the terrain is locally dissected and covered with soils ranging from shallow and stony to sandy and clay loams. Vegetation consists primarily of open stands of live oak and mesquite.
